Of course she won't shit-it's winter and that makes all dogs constipated. Try putting down a strip of rug or newspaper, act like it's important and she'll go on it.
(Side story: a friend of mine recently gave birth to a daughter. Within hours of the baby coming home, the cat-who has never gone anywhere other than the litterbox or outdoors, went into the nursery and shat all over the brand new rug by the crib. How's that for revenge?) -krista
