it's official
we are now 'landed gentry.'
on a less ecstatic note, the cards are in the process of dropping one to the cubs. but i really don't mind all that much. splitting the series and maintaining our prodigious lead is good enough.

james, i'm glad that all is askew in cubbie land. let them pour out their frustrations over a couple of pitchers of pabst. they'll never reach the level of drunken stupidity achieved by harry caray (i can still hear him trying to pronounce villenueva, god bless him!), but they can give it a shot.
brian, i've always wondered why cards fans put up with so much shit when they are at wrigley, but refuse to dish it out when mlb's loss leaders visit busch. i can clearly remember ripping on cubs fans during a series in 1985 (if memory serves, i was questioning the masculinity of jody davis). where have all the good haters gone? my guess is that the bottom of the seventh beer restriction has kept them away in droves.
