good for you d. all intelligent people should ignore reality television.

speaking of reality television, the biggest loser is the most mystifying program to me. i've never watched it personally, but i think that an inspirational show about people losing weight that inspires people to sit on their asses and eat chips is more than a little ironic. one must wonder who the biggest loser really is, the final contestant or the potato who plants their ass in front of that show.

i think i would be a little less bitter about reality t.v. if people actually watched shows like the wire that actually have something to say.

whatever.

the original was awesome. who cares if they re-upped a new, fancy version of it? not saying i'm gonna watch it, but it's certainly not worse than "biggest loser" or "clash of the choirs."

you made me laugh out loud at 12:35 in the bed. does that count?

They really haven't changed it very much. If you liked the old you'll like the new.

I don't see what's so ignominious about enjoying watching people run a neat obstacle course. Much lower class are the people who watch and pay exorbitant amounts to watch drug addicts and criminals play professional and collegiate sports.

I loved the old "Gladiators." I love the new one.

This isn't reality tv-it's a game show, like Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune. The difference between this show and reality is that after the show part, you don't see these people living in a house/on an island with one another, scheming and bitching about each other.

I had said that if the new Gladiators was going to be like that, I wasn't going to watch. And it's not-it's the events, the costumes, and people running around and that's it. No posing, no trash talking, no involvement in these people's personal lives. Just fun.

So I am a couch potato? Well then, I guess you ended up following old Doc Henderson's advice on women and marriage after all.

you don't know me so how can you suggest that i'm a class warrior?

cade and before girl, i won't lie, i loved the original too. if memory serves, my affinity for the show paralleled my passion for the ultimate warrior and big bam bigelow.

pix, you're putting words in my mouth. you are quite unpotatolike.

at the risk of repeating myself, those of you who enjoy worthwhile t.v. would really love the wire

The Wire sounds like another tired CSI spinoff, only this time it's in Baltimore. Plus, spend another $20 a month on top of the $50 or so we already pay, just to have another channel where there is mostly nothing good on? Pass...

before girl, i love you dearly, but you are so, so wrong about the wire. check out the first season from the library or netflix and let me know what you think.

if i had an extra $50 i would buy the first season of the wire for evangelistic purposes. that's how good it freaking is.
